RuneScape: Dragonwilds Community Modding Guidelines
Note – This is not an exhaustive list and is instead a framework for mod creation. We may take action at our discretion against mods we deem harmful, disruptive or otherwise inappropriate even if they aren’t specifically covered by the below guidelines – see our Fan Content Policy to understand more about what action we may take if these guidelines are not followed.
DOs - What is encouraged and allowed:
Expand Existing Systems
Expand on current game mechanics like UI tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, or deeper gameplay features.
Add New Content Respectfully
Introduce new items, areas, characters, or quests, if they don’t overwrite or break existing game content.
Contribute to Localization
Translate the game into new languages not yet supported.
Optimize or Fix Bugs
Submit performance improvements or unofficial patches that help the community play more smoothly.
Create Custom Assets
Include new music, art, or models if they are your own or you have permission to use them.
Collaborate & Credit Properly
Work with others and always give credit for reused content or inspirations.
Respect Save Files & Multiplayer Worlds
Mods should never damage or corrupt save data or give unfair advantages in shared spaces.
Document Your Work
Provide clear installation instructions and note if your mod changes critical gameplay features.
DON'Ts - What is not allowed:
No Paid Mods or Monetization
Do not charge for mods, lock features behind paywalls, or solicit donations within the mod. No ads or affiliate links embedded in the content.
No Harmful or Disruptive Content
Don’t create mods that intentionally ruin gameplay for others (e.g., corrupt saves, crash servers, break characters, or grief multiplayer environments) or circumvent the need to purchase official add-on content.
No Inappropriate or Offensive Material
Mods must avoid racist, sexist, NSFW, or otherwise discriminatory content. Please see our Fan Content Policy for more information about what is inappropriate or offensive material.
No Illegal Content or the promotion of anything illegal
Illegal content includes harassment, threats, discrimination, intimate image abuse, sexual exploitation, terrorism, coercive behaviour and encouraging suicide. Please see our Content Standards Policy at section 10 of our Terms and Conditions for more information about what is illegal content.
Don't Steal or Repackage Others' Work
Always get permission before using assets or code from other creators. No unauthorized reuploads or "mod packs" that bundle others’ work.
No Cheats in Competitive/Shared Environments
While single-player cheats are fine, using mods to cheat in multiplayer or any shared gameplay is prohibited.
No Conflicts with Core Game Files
Don’t overwrite or delete original game files.
No Misleading Claims
Don’t falsely claim endorsement by the game developers or misrepresent your mod’s features. Please see our Fan Content Policy for more information about what misleading claims may include.
Anything that violates our Terms and Conditions, End User Licence Agreement (EULA) or Fan Content Policy
All mods should comply with any relevant sections of our Terms and Conditions, EULA and the Fan Content Policy.
